Derrick Wadsworth

Managing Director

Derrick started Motoplan in 1999 from Wimbledon SAAB. Derrick noticed there was a market for a broker specializing in SAAB and took the brave decision to “go it alone”. Now, with ten years of trading, Derrick has secured Motoplan as a market leading broker. Derrick’s ethos is not to flood his clients with numerous makes and models, but to offer a selection of high quality vehicles ensuring that when you call any of his team, they have as much knowledge as if you were in the dealer showroom.

With a continuing commitment to training and I.T. Derrick will ensure Motoplan's development, bringing new ideas into the business.

Derrick lives with his wife Karen and their son in Ivybridge Devon, and when not being the first one in the office, and the last one to leave, he dons his other Captain's hat and sails along the Devon and Cornwall coastline exploring the many little harbours.

Jackie O’Melia

Senior Administrator

Jackie is one of Motoplan's longest serving employee’s joining us in August 2005, from a national building company.

Taking charge of our administration department Jackie is the source of all knowledge. She has daily contact with our manufacturers, ensuring the smooth transition from initial call to delivery, and beyond!

Jackie lives in Saltash, Cornwall with her husband and two children, and enjoys spending quality time at home with her family.

When not at home or work, you can find Jackie in the gym, or getting lost in a good book.

Cheryl Gallagher

Administrator

Cheryl started with Motoplan in April 2008, bringing excellent communication and customer care skills derived from large banks and government agencies.

Cheryl ensures that all the correct finance documents and any other relevant information is correct prior to order. Then seeing the order through to delivery. Working closely with Jackie she is a key member to the Motoplan team.

Living on the outskirts of Plymouth in a village called Roborough which is a short drive from our office, ideal for lunch at home.

When not working, Cheryl enjoys socialising at the weekends and holidays with many friends she found on her extensive world travels. Weekdays you can find Cheryl in the gym.

Karen Wadsworth

Finance Manager

Karen has been with Motoplan since day one, well she is married to the boss! Karen is the one who makes sure all our suppliers receive their payments on time.

With Karen’s ACCA qualification it brings to Motoplan a wealth of experience in the finance, purchase ledger and credit control sector from companies such as BAe Systems and Toyota.

Living in Ivybridge, Devon with Derrick her husband of 6 years, and their son Alex, Karen splits her time between her demanding roles at Motoplan and her no less demanding role as a Mother.

When Karen does have some spare time, she enjoys her local area and being able to explore Dartmoor National Park with her family.

Motoplan is proud to have been providing its' customers with vehicles for over 10 years. Starting out in 1999 as the original trade broker for Saab, Motoplan quickly established a reputation for high-quality customer service and knowledgeable staff.

Due to our great success with long-term leasing, Motoplan has been able to steadily expand into supplying vehicles from other manufacturers such as VW, Vauxhall and Alfa Romeo.

To this day, Motoplan continues to evolve by offering alternative ways to lease and rent vehicles. By listening to what customer's would like and by investing in training and I.T., Motoplan have been able to excel in new ways to get its' customers on the road with ease.

As well as the original Motoplan Lease for long-term car leasing, Motoplan now offer Motoplan Flexi-Lease and Motoplan Rental, so that whether you need a car or van, for very short-term or very long-term, Motoplan are confident that they can find the right solution for you.
